Senuna Cycle ("the app", "we", "us", "our"), provided by Senuna, is a period-tracking app. We have designed it to be private by default: the health information you enter stays on your device. This policy explains what data is involved, who can access it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Your period, cycle, diary, mood, name and settings are stored only on your device. We never receive, upload, sync, or have access to them.
- The app is free and shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects certain device and advertising data to deliver and measure ads.
- The app downloads its article content from Google Firebase. This is a one-way download — none of your cycle, diary or profile data is ever sent.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- You can remove all your data at any time by deleting it in the app or uninstalling the app.
Information stored on your device (not collected by us)
The following is saved in a local database on your device and is never transmitted to us or any server:
- Cycle and period data — the days you log, flow level, spotting, and the predictions calculated from them.
- Diary entries — your notes and mood ratings.
- Profile and settings — the name you enter, your typical cycle and period length, reminder preferences, and whether app lock is on.
Because this information never leaves your device, we cannot see it, recover it, or share it. If you reinstall or switch phones without using Export (below), this data does not carry over.
Backups (you control them)
The Export backup feature creates a file containing your data and hands it to the destination you choose (for example your own cloud drive, email, or files). This is entirely user-initiated. We never receive the backup, and where the file goes afterwards is governed by the service you send it to.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
To keep the app free, we show ads supplied by Google AdMob. To deliver, limit, and measure ads, Google's advertising SDK collects and processes certain data on its own behalf, which may include:
- Advertising ID and device identifiers
- Approximate (non-precise) location, typically derived from IP address
- App interactions and ad performance/diagnostic data

Your choices for ads:
- Where required (for example in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), you are shown a consent choice the first time you open the app, and ad behaviour follows your selection.
- You can limit ad personalisation at any time using your device's settings ("Ads" / "Reset advertising ID" / "Opt out of Ads Personalisation").
Article content (Google Firebase)
So we can add and improve the articles in the Learn section without requiring an app update, the app downloads that content from Google Firebase Remote Config. This is a one-way download: the app requests content, and none of your cycle, diary, profile or usage data is sent with the request. Downloaded articles are cached on your device so the section works offline.
To deliver this content, Firebase processes a randomly generated installation identifier and your IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred). This identifier is not linked to you personally and is not connected to anything you log in the app. Google's handling of this data is described in its Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Notifications
All reminders are local to your device — no server is involved, and each is calculated on-device from your own logged data. They are all optional and off by default:
- a reminder a chosen number of days before your period is likely,
- a reminder when your estimated fertile window is due to begin,
- an alert if your period appears to be running late,
- a daily prompt to write in your diary, at a time you choose.
App lock
The optional app lock uses your device's own biometrics or passcode through the operating system. The app never sees, receives, or stores your biometric data — it only asks the operating system whether authentication succeeded.
Health data
Period and reproductive-health information is sensitive. We have deliberately kept it on your device only and do not collect or transmit it. We do not use your health data for advertising, and we never share it. (The advertising data described above is collected by Google for ads and does not include the health information you log in the app.)
How your data is shared
- We do not sell your personal data.
- The third parties that receive data are Google AdMob (for the advertising purposes described above) and Google Firebase (which receives an installation identifier and IP address when the app downloads article content).
- Your on-device health, diary, and profile data is not shared with anyone, and is never sent to either service.
Data retention and deletion
- On-device data remains until you delete it. You can clear individual days and diary entries in the app, or remove everything by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's storage in your device settings.
- There is no account and no server-side copy of your personal data for us to retain or delete.
- For advertising data held by Google, see Google's policy linked above and your device's ad settings.
Security
Your data is stored in the app's private storage area on your device, protected by the operating system's app sandbox, and optionally behind the app lock. Data transmitted by the advertising SDK is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
Children
Senuna Cycle is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The app is not enrolled in the "Designed for Families" programme.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or US state privacy laws such as California's CCPA/CPRA and Washington's My Health My Data Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to opt out of certain advertising. Because your in-app data is stored only on your device and under your control, you can exercise access and deletion directly in the app. For matters relating to advertising data, use the device ad controls and Google's tools above, or contact us.
International users
The app can be used worldwide. Your in-app data stays on your device wherever you are. Advertising data is processed by Google in accordance with its policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, within the app.
